The Tuck ‘n’ Tillie Story
Tuck ‘n’ Tillie created these hugs to make sure no one ever has to go without one. They can stay with you forever.
Tuck ‘n’ Tillie was born from the belief that everyone deserves comfort, especially in their most vulnerable moments. Everyone needs to be hugged. We designed our plush companions to provide hugs that heal – helping children and adults of all ages feel safe, soothed and supported.
Tuck and Tillie Bickett grew up during the Great Depression when every crumb mattered and every broken thing was fixed. They married during WWII, then settled on a “40 acres and a mule” farm in Western Kentucky where they raised their family of eleven girls and two boys.
They were ambitious and innovative about farm life. They showed their children how to play, often joining the fun and creating adventures, as they tended livestock, planted or harvested crops or completed daily chores. Going through hand-me-down boxes dropped off by family or neighbors was their department store shopping trip on any given day. Without hesitation, they provided for the needs of extended family and friends. No one ever walked away from Tuck and Tillie’s house without something having been fixed, food to put on their table, some wise advice or a promise for prayer in hard times. They were busy from dawn to dusk and sometimes during the wee hours of the morning. They had no material wealth, but they were generous givers of anything they had to share and caretakers of all who were in need. Their love was plentiful and unconditional, and their ability to give was boundless.

Tuck ‘n’ Tillie’s full line of plush companions was created for times when giving or receiving a warm embrace is physically impossible. Everyone has an “I need a hug!” story.
